Overview

Menin Wine Company was created in 2018 on the initiative of Rubens Menin. Menin Douro Estates produces Douro DOC wines and Port, combining a young corporate project with historic quintas and old vines.

History

The project began in 2018 with Costa de Cima and Quinta do Sol. The first wines were released in 2021 and the new winery handled its first harvest that year. Horta Osório joined the company in 2021. The winery was officially inaugurated in 2024.

Vineyards, estates and production

Four historic quintas total about 131 hectares. Foz do Ceira has records dating to 1256. Costa de Cima is the main estate and houses the four-level gravity winery with capacity for up to 400,000 bottles per year.

Style and Ports

The range includes Vintage, LBV, and Tawny and White Ports at 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 Years. It also includes 80 Years Tawny, 80 Years White and Very Very Old Port.

Menin combines modern investment with historic vineyards and an unusually broad Port portfolio.
